Novice Boys Coach
Michael is thrilled to be helping with HHS Crew! Michael was introduced to rowing in high school, during a “May Program” (similar to March Intensive) intro-to-rowing out of the University of Minnesota boathouse on the Mississippi River.
Michael rowed heavyweight crew at Dartmouth College for two years (and is known infamously as “that rower at the IRAs who got locked in the bathroom two minutes before launch”). A resident of Hanover since 2005, Michael has sat stroke seat for the Upper Valley Rowing Foundation’s competitive mens program since 2010.
He loves rowing for the strength it requires, the teamwork it engenders and the beauty of a fast boat on a quiet river. Michael’s most favorite, recent accomplishment and memory is winning a fish head in 2014 at The Head of the Fish Regatta in a mixed eight, coxed by his then 8th grade daughter Heather.
